About the Band

The Sonnenschein Express is an Alpine / Oktoberfest show band out of Orlando, Florida, hence the name Sonnenschein "Sunshine" Express. The band was founded in 1989 by Martin Gross as a recording project and has played at select engagements, conventions and festivals ever since. Pops performances include Orlando, Naples, Tulsa, Long Beach, Wichita, Cincinnati, Madison, New Mexico, Minneapolis, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, Evansville and Jacksonville Orchestras with conductors Jack Everly, Andy Lane, Michael Krajewski, Erich Kunzel, Alfred Savia, Doc Severinsen and Andrew Sewell. All the members of the band have performed or still do perform with the "Oktoberfest Musikanten"", at the German pavilion at Disney World’s Epcot.

The Sonnenschein Express showcase traditional folk songs and instruments found in the Alpine region. Their performances include the sounds of the Steirische harmonica (button accordion), the alphorns, ringing cow bells, singing carpenters saw, shoe slapping, wooden laughter (alpine xylophone) and yodeling. In addition, crowd participation is always a big part of the performance, so be prepared!

The Sonnenschein Express invite you to enjoy a fun and entertaining trip across Germany and through the Austrian and Swiss Alps.

An evening of Gemütlichkeit!!!
